Dennis, MA — The Cape Cinema is proud to present Citizen Cope for his Cape Cod debut on Wednesday, August 20th. After a decade of touring, song-writing, storytelling, and evolution, Citizen Cope brings remarkable depth and distinction that echos the stories of hope, pain, and love in the American landscape. This evening of acoustic work will blend his iconic mix of blues, soul, folk, and rock. One dollar of every Citizen Cope ticket purchased will go to purchasing musical instruments for middle schoolers in Lame Deer, Montana—a community on the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation. Lame Deer is part of Turnaround Arts, a program of President Obama’s President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities that is using arts education to help students succeed. The Cape Cinema is widely known for its opera-quality acoustics, intimate performance space and recent history of presenting indie acts including Bon Iver, Glen Hansard, The Dirty Projectors, St. Vincent, and most recently Brooklyn’s Small Black.
