Forces of nature have sculpted Wellfleet for millennia. The Outer Cape accommodates to geological change. As the sea carves sand from the Great Beach to nourish Provincelands, and we redesign coastal parking and beach access. When “climate change” causes sea levels to rise and storms to intensify, Wellfleet will learn to adapt as never before in its more than 250 years as a home to humans.
Prof. Nicholas A. Robinson has worked around the world for 40 years to develop effective environmental laws, through the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN). He teaches at Pace Law School and Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies, and returned this spring to Wellfleet from consultations in Brazil, Demark, The Philippines and New Zealand.
