Outermost House

July 29 @ 6:30 pm

PROVINCETOWN — Henry Beston’s 1928 nature book, “The Outermost House,” has been considered a Cape Cod classic for 86 years. On Tuesday, July 29, at the Provincetown Public Library at 6:30 p.m., learn the story about this Cape Cod classic and get the latest about the documentary film about it that’s now in production.

“Outermost House Expert” Don Wilding, co-founder of the Henry Beston Society and author of the book, “Henry Beston’s Cape Cod: How ‘The Outermost House’ Inspired a National Seashore,” will present a talk featuring over 150 historic photos from the archives of the Cape Cod nonprofit, along with rough-cut footage from the film project that features Cape Cod nature footage and segments of recent interviews with writers Robert Finch, David Gessner, Joan Anderson, and Beston biographer Dr. Daniel Payne.

The film is being directed by Christopher Seufert of Mooncusser Films in Chatham.

Signed copies of Wilding’s book, “Henry Beston’s Cape Cod,” which the film is based on, will be available for purchase after the program.
