Painting the Figure
This class will help students develop their painting techniques and gain more confidence in their figure painting while working from life in front of the model. You will learn essential skills to simplify structure and gesture using various exercises to help build the figure on the canvas. Emphasis will be placed on reinforcing basic methods while incorporating design, beautiful color and various edge qualities into your work. Students will learn to set up their color palette and mix skin tones. The workshop demystifies color, with daily demonstrations, educational hand-outs and plenty of individual instruction. Students are encouraged to incorporate these fundamentals, express themselves freely, in order to set their work apart and create a finished painting.
