How does a far-off war affect the everyday of relative peace? As suburbs in Ukraine and elsewhere are shelled beyond recognition, how do we continue on with life in our American parks, our grocery stores, our coffeeshops? Does war enter our lives subversively, or is it kept at bay? In this writing workshop, share your thoughts on life during wartime. We will look at the way writers have tried to write towards peace and engage the world around them.

About the instructor:

Knopf: The Journey, Inheritance, and As Sweet as Honey. Paperbacks and translations have appeared from other houses, including Vintage Books and Beacon Press.
