Ana Glig (aka Gligvashvili) is an award-winning concert pianist praised for her ability to “capture hearts” by Musical America. A recipient of Alfred Cortot’s prize for the best interpretation of romantic music, Glig has performed internationally in Europe and the United States in solo and chamber settings. As an orchestra soloist, Glig has debuted with Georgia and Israeli symphonic orchestras. In the review of her album ‘Reminiscences’ Fanfare Magazine recognized Glig’s playing for its “ever sensitivity” and “ability to finely capture some of Georgia’s haunting, elusive film melodies ..as well as anyone on disc.” A native of Georgia, Glig’s first musical impressions trace back to her early childhood and Georgian polyphonic singing. Glig’s passion to combine music with art has led her to the series of concert-projects interconnecting various piano and art works within their historical context. Glig holds a Masters degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from Mannes School of Music and New York University (NYU Steinhardt). Currently Glig lives on Cape Cod, Massachusetts where she performs, teaches and collaborates with other musicians. To connect Ana Glig visit: www.facebook.com/PianistAG.
