Author Event: Garden House Reading

Please join us for a reading of works by Fellows of the inaugural Garden House Writing Residency on Wednesday, May 11th at 5:00 pm. This outstanding group of writers includes Kia Corthron, Lakeesha Harris, Shana Turner, A Kyle, Jade Sanchez-Ventura, and Jacquelyn Grant-Brown.

The Garden House Writing Residency offers two weeks of lodging and boarding in a peaceful environment for Fellows to pour energy into our respective writing projects. The Garden House in Wellfleet has been offered as a gift for Fellows to come together from the Deep South, Southwest, Midwest, and Northeast. This opportunity creates access to something that is often out of reach to working-class writers due to financial strains, intense workloads, hefty family obligations, and other obstacles. Garden House Fellows are multi-racial, intergenerational, mostly queer, mostly women of color writers who share a commitment to collective wellness and who—despite barriers—are working with all our might to complete and release more of our creative work to the world.
