On Thursday. March 7, Vinegrass will be presenting the Raleigh, N.C., band Chatham County Line at O’Shea’s Olde Inne. The band, who’ve been performing together for 20 years, use the bluegrass instrumental lineup and take it in new directions with original songs both within and beyond the bluegrass tradition. The group’s most recent recording, “Autumn,” is in keeping with CCL’s own tradition of blending bluegrass with contemporary Americana.
In a departure from their previous albums, next month the band will be releasing a new album, “Under the Covers,” which will feature the band’s acoustic interpretations of songs by artists as diverse as the Rolling Stones, Beck and the Lovin Brothers. A single from that album, Wilco’s “I Got You (At the End of the Century), has already been released and is available online.
Showtime is 8 p.m. Tickets are $20, and available at vinegrass.org/tickets.
