“This film tells the story of Shira, a devout eighteen-year-old Israeli, who is set to marry a promising young man. When her sister dies unexpectedly during childbirth, the family pressures Shira to marry her late sister’s husband. Declaring her independence is not an option in Tel Aviv’s ultra-Orthodox Hasidic community, where religious law, tradition and the rabbi’s word are absolute. Everything changes when Shira is forced to choose between her heart’s wish and her family duty.” Runtime 90 minutes-Hebrew with English Subtitles. Rated PG.
