Singer and guitarist Guy Davis is considered a master of traditional blues style, earning the nickname “Ambassador of the Blues.” He was born to well-known actors Ruby Dee and Ossie Davis, and taught himself guitar at a young age by watching and listening to other musicians. His parents then sent him to music camps, where he immersed himself in many musical genres including the classic blues style of Huddie Ledbetter (“Lead Belly”), which became one of his strongest influences.
