Magic Dick and Shung Ng

Magic Dick and Shung Ng are back together on stage at the Spire Center, 25 ½ Court St in downtown Plymouth, MA on Saturday, April 26, 2019 at 8:00 p.m. In 2016, Magic Dick partnered up with award-winning guitar virtuoso and vocal sensation, Shun Ng for their debut release, “About Time”. The debut album is a collection of technically daring interpretations of old classics and virtuosic originals and has been received with high reviews from the music world. As an acoustic duo, each song and arrangement showcases the breadth and depth of the two instruments and the wide-ranging, adventurous spirits of these two artists and the results are astonishing.

Magic Dick, a founding member of the J. Geils Blues Band, has also performed as a guest artist harmonica soloist for Patty Smyth, Debbi Harri, Full Circle, The Del Fuegos and Ryuici Sakamota, among others. Magic Dick’s years of experimentation and searching for new sounds and stylings for the harmonica cultivated a strong desire to improve the flexibility and quality of the harmonica so as to better fit into contemporary music yet retain the best characteristics of harmonica sound and cultural history. Shun Ng is an award-winning fingerstyle guitar virtuoso, singer and songwriter, known for his unique style which infuses elements of Soul, Funk, Blues and Jazz. Shun dazzles audiences from all over the world with his flamboyant technique, soulful vocals and hypnotic groove.

Jordan Reynolds opens the show. Jordan is a Boston based singer-songwriter from California. He writes indie pop mixed with elements of folk, rock, and soul. He’s got an eclectic taste in music, and long with writing and performing original songs, Jordan can regularly be seen in choirs and in musical theater productions.

Tickets are $25; advance purchase is recommended, seating is limited to capacity. The Spire is handicap accessible, public parking is available streetside, and in public lots near the venue.
