The Brewster Ladies’ Library is hosting the one-woman play, “Yours for Humanity – Abby” with Lynne McKenney Lydick. Abby Kelley (1811-1887) was a radical abolitionist and Women’s and Human Rights activist. She dedicated her life to social justice, working relentlessly to end both race and gender prejudice. At a time when society demanded women be silent, submissive, and obedient – Abby was none of these. Hear her voice come to life in this deeply researched and primary sourced show of Abby’s letters and speeches.
The play will take place on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend. This event is possible due to the Mass Cultural Council Grant.
