You might have heard her rendition of “Ashokan Farewell” in the Civil War documentary. She has also recorded and played dances with the band Bare Necessities for many years.
Chatham’s own Rose Clancy is a much respected, high energy musician playing fiddle, mandolin and banjo at concerts and festivals throughout the Northeast while sharing the stage with some of the greatest traditional performers.
Contra dancing is the older cousin to the square dance. No fancy footwork needed – if you can walk, you can dance! All the dances are taught and called. If you’re new to contra dance, be sure to get in on the early dances for the basic moves. And don’t miss out on our welcoming and delicious potluck at 6:00. Suggested donation is $10. $20 maximum per group.
Outermost Contra is one of many contradances on the Cape, and was organized in December of 2014. The contra dance is family friendly and welcomes dancers of all levels.
