Cotuit Center for the Arts presents “The ABCs of NYC, III: Broadway Time Machine,” an original musical revue, April 12 to 22. Performances are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7:30 PM and Sunday at 2 PM.
An original musical revue produced and directed by Holly Erin McCarthy, “Broadway Time Machine” is a magical chronological journey down the Great White Way. The third in the critically acclaimed ABCs of New York series, the show features all new tunes, but the same talented cast as the earlier productions: Anthony Teixeira, Hannah Carrita, Martha Paquin, Meghan Magrath, and Jared Hagan.
“Broadway Time Machine” transports audiences back in time, to the very beginning of Broadway’s highest honor: The Tony Awards. Every musical showcased in the revue is a Best Musical winner or nominee from the 1940s to present day. The revue intertwines American history and musical theater to create a moving and thoughtful experience, with all of the laughs, fun facts, and incredible voices that have characterized the first two ABCs shows.
From “West Side Story” to “Waitress,” from “The Sound of Music” to “Spring Awakening, there is something for everyone and every generation at “Broadway Time Machine.” There will be an entertaining mix of upbeat bops, ballads, solos, duets, and sweeping harmonies, sung by some of the best voices on Cape Cod.
All five stars of the show have extensive musical and acting experience on the Cape and elsewhere.
