Join Cape Symphony Presents for OCEAN / CURRENT\, an intimate and immersive evening of contemporary dance inspired by the ocean\, environmental change\, and the powerful relationship between movement\, sound\, and ecology. Featuring excerpts from Boston Dance Theater’s SURGE project\, developed in collaboration with Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) ocean scientist Larry J. Pratt. Through bold and expressive movement\, the work translates scientific concepts such as ocean systems\, current\, flow\, and environmental change into a deeply human performance experience. \nPresented in partnership with Boston Dance Theater + Danceport. \nThe evening will also highlight local dance through original work choreographed by Danceport Founder and Owner Michelle Chwastiak and performed by the Danceport Company. Come on out to Outermost Contra Dance for some great music\, dancing\, and friendly folks.\nOur caller this month is Eastham resident Pat Nash.  Pat is known for her fun\, beginner-friendly style of teaching.\nPat will be calling to the great music of local Eastham musicians\, Billy Hardy and Beth Sweeney on fiddle and keyboard.  Music from the Scottish\, Irish\, French-Canadian\, Bluegrass and Appalachian fiddle traditions will inspire you to get up and dance!\nContra dancing is the older cousin to the square dance.
