SUMMARY:The Waste No Water Library Tour visits Snow Library
DESCRIPTION:The Massachusetts Alternative Septic System Technology Center (MASSTC) is coming to the Craine Room of Snow Library as part of their Waste No Water Library Tour\, a Cape-wide library series to engage the public in over 10 Cape towns\, focusing on the wastewater successes and challenges each town faces. \nSpeakers from MASSTC will kick off the conversation with a showing of the recent Scientific American documentary “Yellow Tide\,” which features their efforts. After a short presentation on the current wastewater landscape\, they’ll focus on IA septic systems that remove nitrogen from waste\, as well as urine-diverting and composting toilets. Toward the end\, there will be an open Q&A with attendees to ask any and all wastewater questions. Anyone who is interested in the topic of wastewater and wants to be part of positive change on the Cape is encouraged to attend and learn more about how individual efforts fit into the Cape and Islands’ ongoing wastewater puzzle. \nAdmission is free and all are welcome.

DESCRIPTION:Join Dr. Kumara Sidhartha in the Craine Room of Snow Library for a talk on his latest book\, “All My Secrets: Uncovering Messages of Health from Your Body.” Drawing from his nearly 30 years of medical practice experience with a focus on nutrition\, Dr. Sidhartha uses simple\, everyday examples and logic to break down the complex inner workings of the human body and the effect of food on these functions in a narrative format.  \nDr. Sidhartha currently practices internal medicine on Cape Cod\, but throughout his medical career\, he has maintained an interest in nutrition. His efforts have led to various accomplishments\, including being the 2016 Medical Honoree of the American Cancer Society of New England for his work to prevent cancer through nutrition education of the community.    \nAdmission is free and all are welcome.

Mike is the author of five books\, three of which make up ‘The Boston Irish Belt Trilogy\,’ a historical fiction series about love\, friendship\, and family in South Boston. \nThe start of what Mike affectionately refers to as his ‘midlife crisis’ writing career began after his children went off to college. Now\, he has multiple books and screenplays under his name\, with his work recognized by the PAGE International Screenplay Competition\, Nantucket Film Festival\, and other literary organizations. In his talk\, Mike will discuss his ‘Boston Irish Belt Trilogy’ novels. SUMMARY:The All Worn Out Jug Band Holiday Concert
DESCRIPTION:The All Worn Out Jug Band is back for their annual holiday concert in the Craine Room. Over two decades old\, the All Worn Out Jug Band is based in Chatham and has played at many of the Cape’s favorite music venues throughout the years. With an eclectic mix of American roots music\, including jug band music in the style of Jim Kweskin and the Even Dozen Jug Band\, their sound is as unique as it is catchy. Band members Gregory Baird\, Tim Dickey\, Kevin Howard\, Mary Loebig\, and Edmund Robinson delight in bringing their upbeat jug band tunes to listeners far and wide. Their performances also include songs from icons like Johnny Cash and Hank Williams\, along with country\, bluegrass\, traditional\, and gospel offerings.  \nAdmission is free and all are welcome.
