DESCRIPTION:Come to the Craine Room of Snow Library to hear musician and songwriter Kathleen Healy kick off Snow Library’s 2025 Warming Winter with Music series. As a Cape Codder\, Kathleen draws from her experience of living and raising a family near the beach for many of her songs. Writing from the heart\, her honest lyrics and poignant subject matter lend themselves well to her unique voice.  In addition to her solo work\, Kathleen is a member of the Songbirds of Cape Cod\, and the lead singer of the folk quartet Heyday. Her second studio album\, “Embracing the Journey\,” was released in February of 2020 to warm reviews. DESCRIPTION:Join local author and naturalist Dennis Minsky in the Craine Room for a talk on his book\, “Peculiar and Superior: A Year-Rounder in Provincetown.” Dennis has spent over 50 years living in Provincetown\, observing the people and animals who call it home alongside him. “Peculiar and Superior” is a collection of his columns from the Provincetown Independent. In them he documents\, with compassion for his fellow inhabitants\, the rhythms\, quirks\, and delights of living at the end of the world. \nDennis’s writing has also appeared in the Cape Cod Notebook Segment of WCAI\, as well as in Provincetown Arts magazine. He currently works as a naturalist for the Dolphin Fleet Whale Watch. \nCopies will be available for sale and signing after the talk. Admission is free and all are welcome.

DESCRIPTION:​Come to the Craine Room of Snow Library for a presentation by Phil Kyle on the wildlife ecology of Cape Cod. The study of ecology and how organisms interact with their environments gives a new perspective to Cape Cod’s unique ecosystem. Phil will walk the audience through the major ecological relationships on the Cape to provide a better understanding of the wildlife around us.  \nPhil Kyle is a naturalist and birder. He is a past president of the Cape Cod Bird Club and was also the Head Naturalist at both the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History in Brewster and Greenbriar Nature Center in Sandwich. Brian Dudley’s fascination with ocean liners began at the age of four when he saw a drawing of the sinking of the Titanic. Over the years\, he has researched the history of these magnificent ships and acquired an extensive collection of books\, deck plans\, menus\, china\, and models to try and keep their memories alive. He has always found great pleasure in sharing their stories with others. Brian has made several transatlantic crossings on the France\, the Queen Elizabeth 2\, and the Queen Mary 2 and is looking forward to making many more.
