DESCRIPTION:Join us for our September ‘Tuesday Talks’ lecture on Tuesday\, 09/09\, at 5pm with Dr. Michael Pregot. Dr. Pregot will be discussing his new book\, Slavery and Abolitionism on Cape Cod. Books will be available for purchase and signing afterwards.\nMichael Pregot is an educator\, writer\, and admirer of local history. Dr. Pregot has intensely researched this subject to create a comprehensive examination of this often-overlooked part of Cape Cod history. The book discusses religious views\, political platforms\, economic factors\, and social movements that existed during the pre-Civil War period to help readers gain insight into the mindset of the era. It also highlights several profiles of notable Black enslaved individuals living in Massachusetts and demonstrates the enormous contributions they made to the overall growth of our state and country.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for our final performance of the summer as part of our Music at the Atwood Series\, featuring violinist\, Ilana Zaks on Thursday\, August 7th.\nAbout Ilana Zaks:\nJewish-American violinist\, Ilana Zaks\, has been described as “fearless\, refreshing\, and commanding” (Boston Music Influencer) and “captivating and delightful” (Worcester Telegram). She has performed with the Pittsburgh Symphony and spent several seasons with the Seattle Symphony and Seattle Opera. She has also appeared as a soloist and orchestral member with numerous ensembles. Originally from Boston\, Ilana began the violin at the age of 3 and has not stopped since. We cannot wait to hear her perform!
