DESCRIPTION:In 2024\, Jay Beckenstein and band started its observation of the 50th anniversary of the band. What started as a diversion\, something that was just for fun (and twenty-five cents at the door) continues its evolution into 2025. It began inauspiciously when Beckenstein and a few musician friends in Buffalo NY organized a get together on their shared night off from working in bands that actually made money. It was a simple\, humble idea with a name that was likewise simple and humble\, “Tuesday Night – Jazz Jam”. Fast forward 50 years and this jazz super group has released over 30 albums\, garnering gold and platinum along the way. They’ve played over 10\,000 concerts on six continents. Spyro Gyra has maintained its standards of excellence and that has sustained them on the “A list” of live attractions in jazz for 50 years.

DESCRIPTION:Twenty years of touring. Twenty years on the road. “My own weariness amazes me\,” as Bob Dylan sings to his Tambourine Man. I feel ya\, Bob. But the depth of my gratitude amazes me too. I’m humbled by the countless gifts of fanship and friendship throughout the past two decades. I would say it’s been a dream\, except I never could have dreamt up most of it. I’ve shared stages and drinks in hotel rooms with my heroes\, met children named after me\, made friendships rooted in music from Auckland to the Arctic Circle\, performed on trains\, on boats\, for Wall Street men in tuxes and for the muddy denizens of a musk ox farm… Not bad for a lonely rambler girl from Idaho. It was always a nebulous gut feeling that got the show on the road\, and so it is now but in reverse. A gut feeling is telling me to get off the road\, at least for now. After 2026\, touring and I will part ways for a year\, maybe two\, maybe fifty…it’s hard to say at this point. I do hope to keep performing in some capacity. Maybe come see me on a weeknight in some Boise dive\, playing for potatoes? Or strumming the guitar for a handful of fellow meditators as we contemplate the Dharma and the temporary nature of all things. I need some time for a new exploration\, to try to be the kind of mother I want to be\, and to stop moving long enough “to let my soul catch up with me\,” as my grandma Jeanne used to say. Who knows what will come of that? Maybe on some jingle-jangle morning I’ll come following the next great dream\, rested and ready to go anywhere. But until then\, suffice it to say…thank you. SUMMARY:The Salt Marsh Quartet
DESCRIPTION:The Salt Marsh Quartet is an evolving group of local Cape Cod musicians. The band grew out of the Bert Jackson Quartet that had been a jazz mainstay on the outer Cape for a number of years. When guitarist\, Bert Jackson\, moved to Hawaii two years ago leadership duties fell to Roe Osborn\, the bassist. The band added Gary Locke\, a guitarist with local R&B favorites\, the Rip It Ups. When the group’s horn player retired last year\, trumpet player and vocalist\, Kami Lyle\, joined the group. Dave Dillon\, who plays with numerous Cape Cod bands\, rounds out the quartet on drums. Salt Marsh Quartet features solo vocals by Roe and Kami\, as well sweet duets between the two. The group boasts almost two centuries of musical experience bringing fun and engaging music to Cape audiences.

DESCRIPTION:At the end of 2019 Dervish received a prestigious lifetime achievement award from the BBC\, a fitting tribute to the band after over 30 years of recording and performing all over the world. Described by the BBC as “an icon of Irish music”\, the band have played at festivals from Rio to Glastonbury. They accompanied the Irish President on state visits to Latvia and Lithuania and Prime Minister of Ireland on a trade mission to China as Cultural Ambassadors taking time out to play an impromptu session on the Great Wall of China. Dervish have a line-up which includes some of Ireland’s finest traditional musicians\, fronted by one of the country’s best-known singers\, Cathy Jordan.

SUMMARY:Outer Frequencies: Optic Sink and Visual Learner
DESCRIPTION:Outer Frequencies presents its ninth show\, featuring multiple touring bands: \nOptic Sink is a post-punk band from Memphis. This trio relies on synthesizers and drum machines to move the crowd with propulsive sounds. Optic Sink visits Cape Cod midway through a tour in support of their new album Lucky Number (Feel It Records). Visual Learner is a four-piece band from Minneapolis specializing in heartfelt\, melodic punk rock with a gruff edge. The band’s debut LP Greg was recently released by Salinas Records. The Ace King Draw are a local duo who bring a post-rock edge to traditional arrangements\, featuring guitarist/vocalist Brendan O’ Donnell and stand up bassist Jake Finney. Since their recent formation\, the duo has recorded multiple digital singles. \nAdmission to the concert is a $15- 20 sliding scale payment\, cash or Venmo\, at the door. Doors open at 6:30 pm with performances starting at 7 pm. The show is open to all ages in a drug and alcohol-free environment. Beverages and snacks available by donation. Christ Church Episcopal is located at 671 MA-28\, Harwich Port.  A portion of proceeds from this show will be donated to Food Not Bombs Cape Cod. DESCRIPTION:Critically acclaimed singer/songwriter Mark Erelli is a Boston-based veteran of the folk and roots music scene\, renowned for his emotional honesty\, craftsmanship\, and warmth.
