For information and registration\, go to swim4life.org. \nThis post-Labor Day fundraiser\, which has raised $8M for AIDS\, women’s health and the community since 1988\, invites swimmers\, volunteers\, kayakers\, boaters and the public to join this quintessential Provincetown tradition. This year’s compelling blockprint created in 1915 by William Zorach\, Fishing Village\, is offered to the Swim courtesy of Provincetown Art Association and Museum and The Zorach Collection\, LLC. \nCompact Director and artist Jay Critchley states\, “The Swim activates and honors the healing waters of the harbor and its bounty to the community. Provincetown is a destination for those seeking compassion\, joy and safety in a tumultuous time. Welcome to our shores!” \nThe Swim for Life embodies the celebrated energy and inclusiveness of the Outer Cape community\, bringing folks together from across the country and beyond to keep the flame burning bright. DESCRIPTION:Greg Abate is an American jazz saxophonist\, flutist\, composer and educator celebrated for his hard-bop style and powerful\, swinging alto voice. Downbeat’s Annual Readers Poll ranked him as one of the top three alto players in the country. For more than a decade\, pianist Chris Taylor led his own band at The Prudential’s Top of the Hub in Boston. Drummer Gary Johnson\, son of the late New England jazz great Dick Johnson\, has performed with such luminaries as Dizzy Gillespie and Rosemary Clooney over the course of his career.  Bassist Todd Baker has performed with the Artie Shaw Orchestra\, the Woody Herman Band\, Tommy/Jimmy Doresey Orchestra and many others.
