Performances will be in Cape Rep’s Historic Crosby Barn\, 3299 Main Street\, Brewster MA. \nAfter landing the biggest commission in the history of modern art\, painter Mark Rothko takes on a second\, equally ambitious challenge: working alongside his skeptical\, young assistant\, Ken. In John Logan’s Tony Award-winning play\, the two artists clash over the nature of art and success\, struggling to find meaning in their work as the world around them changes. \nDirected by Izaak van der Wende\, the production features costume design by Lucie Jackett\, sound design by Izaak van der Wende\, and replicas by Andre van der Wende. The cast includes John O’Meara as Rothko and Colin Bourget as Ken. \nBits and Bobs Theater Company is an independent group of emerging artists dedicated to making theater more accessible for young and developing creatives. We focus on challenging\, original work that forges new pathways for performance. DESCRIPTION:Join us on Friday\, July 10th at 7pm for a performance by the George Gritzbach Band! \nThe George Gritzbach Band plays inventive takes on classics and a healthy helping of innovative originals offering a great mix of blues\, roots\, and R&B. The band has appeared at a wide variety of venues and Festivals across North America\, including opening for B.B. King\, Bonnie Raitt\, Robert Cray and many others as well as local nightclubs and Performing Arts Centers. They also have the versatility to play unplugged acoustic sets for a more intimate experience. The band\, lead by George\, a serious blues devotee who caused a sensation when he first debuted on the New England blues scene\, is now backed by a seasoned rhythm section featuring Scott Lariviere on bass and backing vocals and Johnny Menezes on keyboards and Christian McCarthy on drums\, percussion and backing vocals. Rounding out the group is Peter Murray laying it down on the sax. The ensemble\, featuring Gritzbach originals\, continues to be in demand as a high energy R&B dance band strongly rooted in blues\, funk and New Orleans styles. \nDon’t miss this night of fantastic music!
