SUMMARY:You\, Me\, & Harry - Celebrating the Music of Harry Chapin
DESCRIPTION:“You\, Me\, & Harry – Celebrating the Music of Harry Chapin\,” has received significant acclaim from both longtime fans of Harry Chapin and audiences newly introduced to his music. The show includes little-known anecdotes and backstories about Harry and his story songs. All of Chapin’s well-known hits are there\, including Cat’s in the Cradle\, Taxi\, W.O.L.D.\, and many more! If you love Harry\, you will love Lou’s show. If you are new to Harry\, You\, me\, & Harry is the perfect introduction. \nBio: Lou Antonucci was inspired by The Beatles to pursue guitar playing and has been performing onstage since the age of thirteen. In his late teens\, he redirected his musical focus from rock ‘n roll to folk rock\, drawing influence from artists such as Crosby\, Stills & Nash\, James Taylor\, Jim Croce\, and Harry Chapin. During this period\, Lou would perform in a multitude of venues\, including bars\, restaurants\, supper clubs\, and colleges\, consistently honing his skills and captivating audiences.\nLou’s early musical achievements would secure him a prestigious position as the resident singer-guitarist at The Holiday House nightclub\, located just outside of Pittsburgh\, PA. At the time\, it was the largest nightclub in the United States\, second only to the Copacabana in New York City. This role provided him with the opportunity to collaborate and learn from prominent national acts\, including esteemed performers such as Ben Vereen\, Charo\, David Brenner\, Connie Stevens\, and Harry Chapin. As a result\, Lou effortlessly demonstrates a distinctive ability to captivate his audience. His compelling and engaging stage presence ensures that each audience member feels intimately involved in the performance\, much like Chapin achieved in his time.\n\n\n$20\, $25 at the door.

Through deep research and a gripping narrative that illuminates the lives of five key American figures\, preeminent historian Ibram X. The graphic-novel adaptation of Dr. Kendi’s groundbreaking Stamped from the Beginning explores\, with vivid clarity and dimensionality\, the living history of America\, and how we can learn from the past to work toward a more equitable\, antiracist future.\nParticipants will be provided with a free copy of the graphic novel and will have the opportunity to ask the graphic novelist questions in a virtual Q&A session in September! SUMMARY:The Fiddle & The Harp DJs in concert
DESCRIPTION:WOMR’s The Fiddle and the Harp DJs present an evening of live Celtic music with Dinah Mellin\, Walter Buckingham\, Mark O’Leary\, and Denya LeVine. \nDinah Mellin was classically trained on violin\, then got an art degree from Wells College. Dinah joined The Cape Cod Fiddlers\, and various other bands over the decades. Allegretto Outreach\, a group that took music demo programs to Cape Cod schools\, was something Dinah started at Snow Library\, Orleans. Brick Hill House Concerts\, where folks can hear every note\, is Dinah’s living room. Some big-time names have performed in Dinah’s house since 2010; such as Jim Malcolm of Old Blind Dogs\, Seamus Begley\, Eilis Kennedy; Riley Baugus & Dirk Powell; Rocker Patti Rothberg; the list goes on. \nWalter Buckingham’s love and mastery of good music is suited to an unusually wide range of styles and settings. Educated at Berklee College of Music\, Walter has performed on a number of record labels including Northstar Records\, Mode Records\, and Folksong in the Classroom. He has performed & recorded with composer/conductor John Cage at Jordan Hall\, New England Conservatory\, Boston\, and in concert series with Tom Rush\, Michael Johnson\, and Aztec Two Step. \nMark O’Leary was raised on a diet of Irish songs and stories. In college he discovered a love of performing\, and appeared in a number of groups\, all of which eventually disbanded due to varying combinations of matrimony and fisticuffs. But the love of the music continued–and continues–and today you can occasionally hear him at sessions\, farmers markets and other locations around the Cape. \nDenya LeVine\, fiddler\, ukulele player\, singer\, has been a WOMR DJ since 1985. Raised on a regimen of folk\, classical and ethnic music\, she’s been performing since her dentist asked her to sing when she was 5. A full-time entertainer for 20 plus years\, and part time for decades before\, she chose to cut back to half time after the pandemic. It’s enough. She loves the concept of creating a shindig with Dinah\, Mark and Walter. \nDoors open at 6:30pm. Show starts at 7pm. Tickets now available at www.eventbrite.com/e/the-fiddle-the-harp-djs-in-concert-to-benefit-womr-tickets-1458611248509?aff=oddtdtcreator

SUMMARY:Paul and Emile
DESCRIPTION:Paul Cézanne and Émile Zola were inseparable as schoolboys in Aix-en-Provence.  Once up in Paris\, they shivered sharing a bed and eating broiled sparrows\, impatient for the world to recognize their genius\, one as painter\, the other as writer. Then\, inexplicably\, came a bitter falling out and a mystifying two decades of silence.  \nAfter a chance encounter reunites the pair\, the bonds of friendship are tested as buried secrets are revealed. Egos collide as they come to recognize the genius in the other’s work in this remarkable new play by internationally acclaimed writer (and Wellfleet resident) Kai Maristed.

Four acts will take the stage\, organized and headlined by The Cape Connection Band\, a supergroup of longtime Cape musicians.
