SUMMARY:The Real Inspector Hound Auditions
DESCRIPTION:Cape Rep Theatre will be holding open auditions for The Real Inspector Hound by Tom Stoppard\, directed by Holly Erin McCarthy.  \nAbout the auditions:\nWe are seeking actors\, singers and dancers of all races\, ages\, ethnicities and gender identities. All roles are available. To stay up to date visit www.caperep.org/auditions/ \nSubmission instructions:\nPlease email an appointment request along with your headshot and resume to auditions@caperep.org. We are looking for actors with a wonderful sense of comedy and physicality for our upcoming production of Tom Stoppard’s The Real Inspector Hound\, directed by Holly Erin McCarthy. Please prepare a short comic monologue of a minute or so. All listed roles are available. \nAuditions are by appointment but walk-ins will be seen on a first come\, first served basis in between scheduled appointments. Please email a request for an appointment along with a headshot and resume to auditions@caperep.org. \nRehearsals start on or about May 25\, 2026\nProduction dates are currently scheduled for: June 24 – July 19\, 2026 in the Indoor Theater \nThe Real Inspector Hound by Tom Stoppard \nSummary: A comedic spoof of an Agatha Christie-style whodunit in which two theater critics become entangled in the very murder mystery they are reviewing. In The Real Inspector Hound\, Tony and Academy award-winning playwright Tom Stoppard has crafted a witty and gripping tale in which identity is as variable as a mustache. \nAvailable Roles and Character Breakdown:\nMOON – Second string theater critic of a major newspaper in London. Ambitious but insecure.\nBIRDBOOT – First string theater critic with the “other” major London paper. Has a bit of an ego. Married but a womanizer.\nMRS. DRUDGE – The dutiful maid who sees and hears everything that goes on in Muldoon Manor.\nSIMON GASCOYNE – Young\, dashing\, self-absorbed\, flirty.\nFELICITY CUNNINGHAM – Young\, very attractive\, enjoys tennis\, Cynthia’s friend.\nCYNTHIA MULDOON – The Lady of the Manor and wife of the missing Albert Muldoon. She is wealthy\, upper class\, beautiful.\nMAJOR MAGNUS MULDOON – The half-brother of Albert Muldoon. Or is he?\nINSPECTOR HOUND – A Holmes-like detective.
