SUMMARY:Zen and The Art of Watercycle Maintenance: An Agroecological Educational Journey\, Bringing a Global Approach to Solving Cape Cod's Ecological Challenges
DESCRIPTION:Join the Brewster Ponds Association and Regenerative Agroecologist Peter Jensen from Terra Firma Permagardens for an enlightening talk “Zen and The Art of Watercycle Maintenance: An Agroecological Educational Journey\, Bringing a Global Approach to Solving Cape Cod’s Ecological Challenges.” This informative talk will be held on Thursday\, October 2nd\, from 4:30 – 6 PM at the Brewster Ladies Library. \nWe may not be able to change the climate above our heads\, but we can all begin to change the climate below our feet. SUMMARY:Old Ladies Against Underwater Garbage Sponsored By The Brewster Ponds Coalition
DESCRIPTION:Join the Brewster Ponds Coalition as we welcome Susan Baur\, founder of the Old Ladies Against Underwater Garbage (OLAUG)\, to the Brewster Ladies Library on Wednesday\, September 10th. Susan will captivate attendees with the efforts of this energetic group of ladies who swim in Cape Cod’s freshwater ponds collecting trash. Come and hear her talk on Wednesday\, September 10\, from 2 to 3:30 PM at the Brewster Ladies Library (1822 Main Street). This free event will be held in the main auditorium and is open to the public; register at https://tinyurl.com/BPC-OLAUG-10Sep25. \nThis summer has been a busy one for the group\, with more than 20 dives scheduled throughout the area. Although some planned dives have been complicated by cases of cyanobacteria\, it’s been a banner year for trash! OLAUG has hauled parts of an 18-foot dock and portions of a yellow corvette. As Susan says\, “Every dive is an adventure and gives us another story to tell.” You will be captivated by OLAUG’s adventures!

SUMMARY:Brewster Community Forum on the Comprehensive Wastewater Management Plan
DESCRIPTION:Join the Brewster Ponds Coalition at our community forum to learn why a Comprehensive Wastewater Management Plan (CWMP) should be a critical component of the town’s Integrated Water Resource Management Plan. BPC representatives will explain why there is a need for a CWMP\, its scope and goals\, and projected costs\, as well as the risks of not having one\, and answer any questions you may have. Equally important is that we will encourage an open dialogue and look forward to hearing any concerns and questions you might have. This proposal will be presented at the town’s Spring Town Meeting on May 5 for approval. The BPC Board feels that it is important to inform and educate our members and friends about why this Plan is important and should be funded. \nThis event is free and open to the public. Please join us on Thursday\, March 27\, 2025 from 5:30 PM – 7 PM at the Brewster Ladies Library (1822 Main Street\, Brewster). Register at: https://tinyurl.com/BPC-CommunityForum-27Mar25
