DESCRIPTION:You are invited to attend the BPC 2025 Pond Summit\, on Saturday\, April 5\, from 9 – 11:30 AM. The theme of this year’s event is Chemicals of Emerging Concern\, a topic in the news of late both nationally and on Cape Cod.  \nThe Summit will feature two speakers on this topic. Tom Cambareri\, Water Resource Specialist and Hydrologist with Sole Source Consulting\, will provide background information about Chemicals of Emerging Concern and describe his work with municipal and private clients on water resources issues including groundwater modeling of PFAS contamination and remedial actions. Tom Barr\, Deputy Director of Public Works for the Town of Chatham\, will explain the PFAS issue in Chatham\, including when and how they were detected in the drinking water\, the options considered to remediate the problem\, and the course of action being taken.  \nThe Pond Summit is free and open to the public. It will begin with registration\, coffee\, and pastries at 9 AM\, followed by the presentations from 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM\, at the Brewster Baptist Church\, 1848 Main Street. DESCRIPTION:The Brewster Ponds Coalition invites you to join us at our 10th Annual Pond Summit. Two speakers will be presenting at this year’s event: Bryan Horsley from the Massachusetts Alternative Septic System Test Center (MASSTC) who will describe how innovative toilets can remove nitrogen and phosphorus from wastewater\, and Hilary Sandler from the UMass Cranberry Station in Wareham who will talk about the impact of cranberry bogs on pond health. We will wrap up with BPC Board member Marty Burke explaining how to bring the Pond Protection Pledge Program to your neighborhood. \nThe Pond Summit will begin with registration\, coffee\, and pastries at 9:30 AM\, followed by the presentations starting at 10 AM.
