DESCRIPTION:Provincetown Dance Festival enters its 19th season. Since the first season\, over 60 artists and companies from the USA and Canada have performed at the festival. Artists have originated from Africa\, the Caribbean\, Russia\, Puerto Rico\, Haiti\, Cambodia\, Japan\, India\, China\, Canada and the USA\, to name a few.  The festival has  consistently celebrated every dance form\, including\, Flamenco\, Chinese traditional dance\, Hip-Hop\, Tap\, Ballet\, Contemporary\, Classical Indian\, Afro-Caribbean\, Irish Dance\, Ballroom and Jazz dance.​ \nThe Provincetown Dance Festival has been co-produced by Adam Miller and Truro Center for the Arts at Castle Hill\, recently in partnership with the Provincetown Theater. ​ \n2025 FESTIVAL ARTISTS: \nMadison Palffy: contemporary trio \nDamir T. DESCRIPTION:Truro Center for the Arts at Castle Hill is excited to be co-producing the 18th season of the Provincetown Dance Festival. The performances on August 23rd an 24th\, will take place on the beautiful outdoor Sam’s Stage\, at The Truro Center for the Arts at Castle Hill’s Edgewood Farm campus and will feature six different artists during the festival weekend. \nThis season\, three nationally recognized companies will be making their debut appearances at the Provincetown Dance Festival\, Boston Dance Theater\, Ballet Rhode Island\, and Jean Appolon Expressions (JAE): a company dedicated to celebrating the cultural heritage of Haiti. \nIn addition\, internationally celebrated classical Indian dance virtuoso Rachna Agrawal returns with two works from this ancient dance tradition. The Provincetown Dance Festival has also commissioned a world premiere collaboration with one of its most popular artists\, tap dancer\, Khalid Hill: featuring live music. \nAs with every season\, the Provincetown Dance Festival continues its commitment to the spirit of contemporary dance with the New York City based\, Rovaco. Rovaco’s work explores the themes of relationships\, sex\, capitalism and queerness. Ballet Rhode Island brings compelling brand-new works to the festival\, and Jean Appolon Expressions will present a different work for each evening: one\, an evocation of traditional Haitian dance\, and the other\, a more contemporary work. \nWe are dedicating this year’s festival to Dian Reynolds who has been so supportive of this Festival from day one! Mr. Coe will read selected works with musical interludes performed by an ensemble of outstanding musicians led by Field. With a wide ranging song list inspired by the text of the poems\, the music will traverse jazz\, gospel\, pop\, Americana\, funk\, and improvisation\, strung together in a seamless sequence outlining in words and tones the breadth of the American musical experience. \nThe performances of the original Symphony of Crickets over the past two summers received great public response:\n“Such an amazing show\, amazing talent\, and fabulous artestry!”\n“Absolutely awesome”\n“Fabulous performance!”\n“Superb art\, fine entertainment”\n“This was an amazing event!
