DESCRIPTION:The Performing Arts Program at Cape Cod Community College (4Cs) proudly presents Come From Away\, opening April 9\, 2026\, on the Main Stage of the Tilden Arts Center. This acclaimed musical tells a remarkable true story of compassion\, generosity\, and connection in the wake of an unexpected global crisis. \nCome From Away is based on the events of September 11\, 2001\, when 38 planes were diverted to the small town of Gander\, Newfoundland\, and thousands of stranded passengers were welcomed by local residents. The show captures how ordinary people responded with extraordinary kindness\, forging connections across cultures and circumstances. \n“This is a story about choosing care in moments of uncertainty\,” said Vana Trudeau\, Assistant Professor and Program Coordinator for the Performing Arts Program at 4Cs and the Director of the show. “Come From Away reminds us that community is built through action—through empathy\, understanding\, and the simple decision to show up for one another. Bringing this story to our main stage feels especially resonant right now.” \nCome From Away runs April 9–25\, 2026\, with evening performances Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 pm and Saturday matinees at 2:00 pm. Following its premiere in Plymouth\, UK\, and subsequent production at ArtsEmerson\, We Are the Land comes to Cape Cod for a very special two-performance engagement on Wednesday\, April 30\, and Thursday\, May 1\, at Cape Cod Community College’s Tilden Arts Center.   \nThe Wampanoag people have been stewarding their land for over 12\,000 years across several eastern states\, including Massachusetts. After colonization\, their voice was silenced. We Are the Land is part pageant\, part play\, where audiences will hear directly from Wampanoag people telling their story of their relationship to the land\, how it was taken away\, and how the nation has re-established themselves in a way that both honors their ancestors and looks toward the future. In collaboration with a multi-talented cast of Wampanoag artists\, actors\, historians\, and storytellers\, Mashpee Wampanoag tribal members Siobhan Brown\, Hartman Deetz\, and Kitty Hendricks have brought this incredible event to fruition. \n“We Are the Land is a testimony of survival and a celebration of culture.
