Author Talk with Dr. Michael V. Pregot

Come to the Craine Room of Snow Library to hear Dr. Michael V. Pregot discuss his latest book, “Slavery and Abolitionism on Cape Cod.” Dr. Pregot has intensely researched this subject to create a comprehensive examination of this often-overlooked part of Cape Cod history. The book discusses religious views, political platforms, economic factors, and social movements that existed during the pre-Civil War period to help readers gain insight into the mindset of the era. It also highlights several profiles of notable Black slaves living in Massachusetts and demonstrates the enormous contributions they made to the overall growth of our country.
