September 1, 2024 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
$30

Join Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater for a unique concert experience – and be transported into the heart of a Gypsy camp. Throughout the evening, you will become part of the story as singer and pianist Alexander Prokhorov-Tolstoy, a master of Russian and Gypsy romances, performs an exquisite selection of well-known and rare pieces, complete with his own piano improvisations. The songs will be sung in Russian, with introductions in English, making this a captivating experience for both Russian and English-speaking audiences.

Alexander Prokhorov-Tolstoy, a graduate of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory and the Boston Opera Institute, has graced stages such as Carnegie Hall, Boston Symphony Hall, and Moscow’s Philharmonic Halls. Alexander’s rich cultural heritage, connected to famous Russian literary and musical figures, infuses his performances with a profound sense of tradition and artistry.

Special Preview: In addition to the romances, Alexander, the Artistic Director and founder of Commonwealth Lyric Theater, will offer a preview of the world-premiere musical *Pinocchio*. Set to debut at the Emerson Colonial Theatre this November, this preview will be presented by artists of Commonwealth Theater, giving you an exclusive first look at this highly anticipated production.
