Come to Outermost Contra Dance and swing your partner, dosido your friends and neighbors, and let the music guide your feet!
Our caller this month is special guest Erica Weiss, experienced dance teacher, musician, dancer, recording artist and more. Erica will lead us through each dance with the expertise she is known for.
Erica will be calling to the music of the accomplished and energetic old-time and Celtic musicians, fiddler Stuart Moore from Maine and Chatham, and Harwich guitarist Amy Corrigan.
Contra dancing is the true traditional New England dance, brought here by the Irish, English and Scottish settlers. No fancy footwork needed – if you can walk, you can dance! All the dances are taught and called. The contra dance is family friendly and welcomes dancers of all levels. If you are new to contra or just want to polish your skills, be sure to come to the Contra Skills walk-through at 6:30.
No need to bring a partner; there are plenty of friendly people in this welcoming dance community.
Admission is $15, $10 for those under 30, $5 with student ID!
