Come dance to celebrate the “warming of the Cape!” This month long-time Rhode Island caller, Paul Wilde, will be calling Outermost Contra’s family-friendly contra dance leading contras and mixers. He will be calling to the live music of Cape Cod’s talented musicians, Clayton March on fiddle and Bailey Ford on piano.
Contra dancing is the true traditional New England dance, brought here by the Irish, English and Scottish settlers. No fancy footwork needed – if you can walk, you can dance! All the dances are taught and called.
The contra dance is family friendly and welcomes dancers of all levels. If you are new to contra or just want to polish your skills, be sure to come to the Contra Skills walk-through at 6:30.
No need to bring a partner; there are plenty of friendly people in this welcoming dance community.
Admission is $15, $10 for those under 30, $5 with student ID!
