The Wampanoag Design Team Presents the Paomet Monuments Study

The community is invited to review the CPA funded draft report by the Wampanoag Design Team working with the Truro Historical Society and Historical Commission. Four sites are under consideration for monuments/memorials to recognize the Paomet people who were stewards of our lands for millennia: (1) Truro Center Park – off to the side of our summer Farmers Market, this location is possibly a former Paomet summer village site, (2) High Head along the trails managed by the Truro Conservation Trust, and in view of Route 6, (3) Corn Hill site near Corn Hill Beach adjacent to the current monuments, and (4) Pond Village site on the pond near the current Pilgrim monument.
