The Provincetown Film Society is thrilled to announce a special one-night-only screening of the musical biopic THIRSTY on Wednesday, July 2nd at 7:00 PM at Waters Edge Cinema. This benefit event for star Thirsty Burlington will feature a live, in-person introduction by Thirsty and producer Lisa Thomas. 

Based on the remarkable true story of Scott Townsend—better known by fans as Thirsty Burlington—THIRSTY is a raw, musical journey through gender, survival, and self-expression. From growing up as a “girly-boy” in the housing projects of Cambridge, MA, under the volatile care of his single mother, to becoming a beloved drag icon performing in Provincetown with a spot-on Cher impersonation, Scott’s life unfolds in vivid, song-filled chapters.

Directed with flair and sensitivity, the film captures not only the challenges of a gender-nonconforming youth in a harsh world but also the joy, triumph, and power of performance. THIRSTY is as entertaining as it is emotional—a dazzling ode to becoming one’s truest self.
