Within – A rare look inside Provincetown’s iconic Dune Shacks

After 17 seasons in the heart of Provincetown, photographer Julie Tremblay will close her gallery at the end of December 2026.
To mark the occasion, she will present Within, a special final exhibition featuring a selection of photographs exploring one of Provincetown’s most iconic and elusive landmarks: the dune shacks.
For more than a decade, Tremblay has photographed the Provincetown dune shacks, documenting both their exteriors and their intimate interiors. Within offers a rare glimpse inside these storied structures, revealing spaces, details, and perspectives that are rarely seen by the public.

The exhibition is an intimate reflection on the character and history of the dune shacks, as seen through Tremblay’s camera over the past decade. Together, the photographs offer a personal record of these remarkable places and the unique sense of solitude, history, and beauty they hold within the Provincetown dunes.
