Say hello to some of our newest contributors. On Wednesdays at 9 am, we’ll enjoy Ray Brown’s Talkin’ Birds. The show is based in Boston, but makes regular visits to the Cape and other locations of avian interest. Expect regular contributions from Mike O’Connor of the Birdwatcher’s General Store in Orleans. Talkin’ Birds will air every Wednesday at 9 am.
Ryan Cooke
You may have already heard Michael Casey and Ryan Cooke. Michael Casey hosts “Footlights,” focusing on one Broadway musical in each episode. Footlights can be heard on the 4th Sunday of every month at noon. Ryan Cooke also has an interest in soundtracks, but his focus is on the world of film. You can hear Ryan present “Reel Music” on alternating Saturday nights from 9 to midnight opposite David Cox. David’s program, “Come As You Are,” is also new to the time slot following the departure of long-time volunteer Steve Milkewicz.
New volunteers are always welcome to begin the training process. No experience necessary. The Program Committee is now accepting proposals from trained volunteers to fill the 4th Saturdays of each month from 9 to midnight. The station also welcomes proposals from people who would like to produce a 30 minute spoken word program on local issues. Send your proposals to Matty or contact matty@womr.org with any questions or to set up an orientation interview.
