A Matinee with Tom Rush

A true icon of American folk music, Tom Rush returns to the Payomet Tent in Truro for a matinee performance on Sunday, September 13th at 5:00pm. For decades, Tom has been one of the most influential figures in folk music, helping shape the folk revival of the ’60s, the folk-rock movement of the ’70s, and the renaissance of the ’80s and ’90s, leaving his stamp on generations of artists including James Taylor, Emmylou Harris, Tom Petty, and Garth Brooks. His early recordings introduced the world to Joni Mitchell, Jackson Browne, and James Taylor, and his Club 47 concerts helped launch the careers of Nanci Griffith and Shawn Colvin. Now celebrating five decades of touring, Tom Rush is as vital and engaging as ever, still doing what audiences love him for: writing and playing, passionately and tenderly, knitting together the musical traditions and talents of our times.
