Dave Keller

On Sunday March 10, The Music Room in West Yarmouth, MA will welcome Deep Soul and Roots torchbearer Dave Keller and his band.  Keller has been called “a magnificent soul singer” (Elmore Magazine), a “songwriting genius” (Living Blues), and “a force to be reckoned with as a guitarist” (Music Republic Magazine UK).  His dynamic, high energy performances have earned him a legion of fans throughout the U.S. and Europe.

The Music Room is a perfect venue to enjoy Keller’s music, as it has made its reputation as as next-generation venue, showcasing national and international acts in an intimate, VIP setting.  Keller’s show is part of the Barbecue, Bourbon & Blues series, offering a special $20 ticket price for all seats, and an early showtime of 5:30 pm.

Since 1993, Keller has performed many thousands of shows, from his home base in Montpelier, VT.  The past decade has seen his star rise dramatically, as Keller has earned three Blues Music Award nominations for Best Soul Blues Album (2022, 2019, 2014).  He and his “tighter than tight” band (Blues Music Magazine) have performed in almost every state east of the Mississippi river, and quite a few west of it.  His touring schedule regularly includes some of the largest and most respected festivals and venues in the U.S.  With his recent European tour, and glowing articles in the European press (Rolling Stone FRANCE, Music Republic Magazine UK, etc.), Keller continues to expand his fanbase internationally.

Keller’s new album, It’s Time To Shine (Tastee Tone Records, Aug. 2023), garnered a spot on Downbeat‘s Best of the Year list, and spent over two months in the Top 10 for nationwide Blues radio airplay.   Recorded live in a cabin in the Adirondack mountains of upstate New York, it features Keller and his band firing on all cylinders, performing a dozen raw and unfiltered original songs.  Blues Music Magazine noted “…the joyous sound of talented musicians breathing as one, further establishing Keller as a contemporary artist to be reckoned with.” Listen at www.davekeller.bandcamp.com.

Keller, who grew up in Worcester, MA, learned his craft from some of the very deepest Soul and Roots musicians out there.   He was a protege of the late Deep Soul singer, Mighty Sam McClain, who proclaimed, “He’s for REAL!”.   Keller has recorded, performed, and co-written with legendary MA-based guitarist Ronnie Earl, who says, “Your music is just really, really beautiful.”  Even Taj Mahal is a fan, saying, “I really like what you do.”
