Emerald Rae

Emerald Rae is an American Fiddler & Folksinger based in Nashville. Hailing from the seaside town of Gloucester, Massachusetts, Rae began her musical journey deep in the heart of traditional Celtic music. With her 2018 self-titled release, Rae broke the boundaries of fiddle-singing with a wide palate of experimental techniques. Her powerhouse vocals and groovy percussive fiddle have delighted audiences at legacy festivals and

 

As a young virtuoso, she became a US National Scottish Fiddle Champion at the age of 18, and spent 20 years performing as a fiddler and stepdancer all over North America. She graduate from Berklee College of Music with a degree in Film Scoring.

 

Her powerhouse vocals with groovy percussive fiddle accompaniment have delighted audiences all over North America. Gracing the stages of legacy folk festivals, Rae has been a regular at New Bedford Folk Festival and Philadelphia Folk Festival.
