Emily Wade Adams & the Cafe Society

Hometown favorite Emily Wade Adams returns to Cotuit Center for the Arts with her NYC-based jazz quintet, The Café Society, for a special engagement celebrating the release of their debut album.

Led by vocalist Adams and saxophonist Justin Flynn, these performances showcase the magic of musical collaboration through fresh interpretations of jazz’s most legendary duos. Drawing on their own musical partnership, the quintet’s new recording features captivating selections inspired by iconic pairings from Sinatra & Jobim to Coltrane & Hartman, with Adams’ expressive vocals and Flynn’s soulful saxophone breathing new life into timeless works by Monk & McRae, Nancy Wilson & Cannonball Adderley, and more.

Inspired by the groundbreaking integrated 1940s jazz club of the same name, The Café Society features some of New York’s most sought-after jazz musicians. This performance will feature Matt Chertkoff on guitar, Jim Greene on bass, and Ben Cliness on drums. The quintet has graced the stages of Feinstein’s/54 Below, the Roxy, the Rum House in Times Square, and Ian Hendrickson-Smith’s Uncle Cheef, among many other prestigious venues.
