Jake Shimabukuro

Payomet welcomes back Jake Shimabukuro, the world-renowned ukulele virtuoso hailed as the “Jimi Hendrix of the ukulele.” Born and raised in Honolulu, Shimabukuro has spent his career pushing the instrument far beyond its traditional boundaries, blending jazz, rock, classical, blues, folk, and traditional Hawaiian music into performances that have captivated audiences from the Sydney Opera House to the Kennedy Center. He first gained international recognition with his viral rendition of George Harrison’s “While My Guitar Gently Weeps,” and has since collaborated with Bette Midler, Yo-Yo Ma, Jimmy Buffett, and Mick Fleetwood, among others.
