John Doe

As co-founder and frontman of the legendary Los Angeles punk band X, John Doe helped shape the sound and spirit of American alternative music.

Now a solo artist with eight records to his name, he brings a quieter but no less searching sensibility to his work, collaborating over the years with Patty Griffin, Aimee Mann, Dan Auerbach, and Kathleen Edwards, among others. His writing has never stopped, either, spanning music, poetry, and more than 50 film and television appearances, including a role in Great Balls of Fire. Tuesday, September 1, he brings all of it to the tent.
