Kat Wright returns to the stage at the Spire Center, 25 ½ Court St. in downtown Plymouth, MA on Friday, September 13, 2019 at 8:00 p.m. Kat Wright, whose voice is both sultry and dynamic, delicate yet powerful; gritty but highly emotive and nuanced, has been described as “a young Bonnie Raitt meets Amy Winehouse”. Add to that voice enough stage presence to tame lions, and the combination of feline femininity proves immediately enchanting. There’s soul flowing in and out of her rock ‘n’ roll with a serpentine seduction. Some of soul music’s sweet, grand dames belt, shout, seethe, and succumb, while Wright sings gently like a heartache’s apology. It’s funky in spots and beautiful all over. And it hurts a little … like it should.
Backing the amazing vocals of Kat are:
JOSH WEINSTEIN – bass
BOB WAGNER – guitar
JOHN KIMOCK/COLIN JALBERT – drums
SHANE HARDIMAN – keys
LUKE LAPLANT – bari sax
JAKE WHITESELL – tenor sax
PHIL RODRIGUEZ – trumpet
Tickets are $20; advance purchase is recommended, seating is limited to capacity. The Spire is handicap accessible, public parking is available streetside, and in public lots near the venue.
