Andy Needel

Andy hosts “Deep Dives” alternating Thursdays from 9 til midnight. Each show features one artist or group. This format allows for exploration of all genres, but Andy mostly sticks to with what he knows best: Rock, Blues, New Wave/Alternative and Soul.  Creating the playlists for Deep Dives is an immersive experience, always full of new finds even with the most familiar artist.

Andy grew up in an era when the Mixed Tape was a work of art and still has all his old cherished tapes as well as an ever growing vinyl collection.  He works full time for Cape Abilities as a Special Education Teacher providing Job Skills and Work Readiness training to students in several high schools around The Cape.

The Caped Cod is Andy’s side hustle and another passion.  This was a record store he owned in Chatham until 2009 and reincarnated as an online entity in 2022.  In the last few years The Caped Cod has also resurfaced as part of Cape Abilities Thrift Store in West Yarmouth.  Sales from the Thrift Store benefit Cape Abilities mission of serving people with different abilities.
