J Hagenbuckle is writer, director, sound designer, actor and producer for Cape Noir Radio Theater. He emerges from a 35 year career as a freelance sound designer/composer for theater starting in 1988 at W.H.A.T. in Wellfleet. The ride has taken him On and Off Broadway, to London and many Boston and Regional theaters including The Berkshire Theater Festival, Commonwealth Shakespeare Company and Cape Cod Theatre Company/HJT. Along the way he picked up Boston’s Elliot Norton Award for Outstanding Designer, an NEA/TCG Designer Grant and an MFA in Theater Arts from Brandeis. Cape Noir Radio Theater features original stories, unique adaptations and a bit of the unexpected laced with mystery, suspense, thrills, adventure, even the supernatural. And of course, humor and romance. J plays bass guitar with The Cyclones. CNRT airs 2nd and 4th Thursdays 8:30-9pm. Cape Noir on OMR!
New volunteers are always welcome to begin the training process. No experience necessary. The Program Committee is now accepting proposals from trained volunteers to fill the following openings: the 3rd Sunday of each month from 9 to midnight, and 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month. There’s also an opening for a bluegrass DJ on the 3rd and 5th Wednesday of each month from 5-8pm. The station also welcomes proposals from people who would like to produce a 30 minute spoken word program on local issues. Send your proposals to Matty or contact matty@womr.org with any questions or to set up an orientation interview.
