Sandra Hemeon-McMahon

Having lived a short time in France and then for several years in Spain, and now teaching Spanish here on Cape Cod, Sandra Hemeon-McMahon (aka DJ “H”) has a passion for musical styles emanating from the Spanish and French-speaking world – Flamenco from Spain, Mariachi from Mexico, Nueva Canción from Chile, French chansons, Quebecois folk, Haitian troubadour…as well as música “Rock” from any and all of the French and Spanish-speaking nations (including our own).

Sandra is also known to open up her program to the rest of the world and play anything from Brazilian bossa nova to Mongolian punk rock. She is a firm believer of music as the Universal Language, the Heartbeat of Humanity, and a whole lot of FUN.

Be A DJ

New volunteers are always welcome to begin the training process. No experience necessary. The Program Committee is now accepting proposals from trained volunteers to fill the following openings: the 3rd Sunday of each month from 9 to midnight, and the 3rd Saturdays of each month from 9 to midnight. The station also welcomes proposals from people who would like to produce a 30 minute spoken word program on local issues. Send your proposals to Matty or contact matty@womr.org with any questions or to set up an orientation interview.
