Kat fell in love with the fab four from the moment her parents bought she and her siblings the “red’ and “blue” albums and their own portable record player. Upon hearing that they had broken up two years prior, she wrote them all a letter imploring them to get back together for the betterment of the world. Alas, there was no reply. Although she doesn’t fancy herself an expert on the Beatles, she is unabashedly a fan. Volunteering as a DJ and beaming out the tunes of John, Paul, George and Ringo (and sometimes friends) at WOMR has been the fulfillment of a dream. She particularly loves when other fans call in and share their vibrant stories and favorite songs.
New volunteers are always welcome to begin the training process. No experience necessary. The Program Committee is now accepting proposals from trained volunteers to fill the following openings: the 3rd Sunday of each month from 9 to midnight, and the 3rd Saturdays of each month from 9 to midnight. The station also welcomes proposals from people who would like to produce a 30 minute spoken word program on local issues. Send your proposals to Matty or contact matty@womr.org with any questions or to set up an orientation interview.
